Hanwag GmbH is a German manufacturer of mountaineering boots and hiking boots headquartered in Vierkirchen. Hanwag was born in Bavaria and worn around the world.

From 1921 until today, Hanwag has stood for traditional craftsmanship in combination with sophisticated technical know-how, continuous innovation, durability and tradition. Functional mountain and trekking shoes of the highest quality have been made at the company's headquarters in Vierkirchen near Munich for 100 years. Together with many experienced professional athletes - alpinists, trekkers and mountain guides - our shoemakers and designers develop innovative footwear for athletic use, perfected down to the smallest detail.

Without exception, we manufacture our shoes using two technically very demanding techniques: the pinched and the double-stitched design. This makes all of our models robust, durable and, above all, resolable.

No two feet are the same. That is why not every last can suit every hiker or mountaineer. In order to be able to respond even more specifically to this very individual fit, we began years ago to develop our special lasts.
