Review
REVIEW NOVA Codex S 80-100 / 105 by Ziad Bassil (Dust of the Universe)
NOVA test pilot & Red Bull X-Alps finisher Nick Donini: "The CODEX is a game-changer in paragliding, bridging the gap from traditional 3-liner to the new 2-liner era. Thanks to the CODEX’ safety features and its modest aspect ratio of 6.1, it lets pilots confidently try this new design, flying with the latest C-class gliders. The CODEX is good at flying fast and stays stable in accelerated flight. Pilots, especially those trying 2-liners for the first time, can enjoy new sensations. The CODEX is not just great for competition; its low aspect ratio gives amazing stability. It has a very late stall point, making it perfect for tight turns, even in strong thermals. Get ready for a new era of paragliding with the Nova CODEX."
NOVA test pilot Ferdi Vogel: "Under such a relaxed cross-country wing as the CODEX, more brain power is left for efficient route finding. And in competition, quickly deciding on the right option is crucial. If you feel comfortable under a paraglider at every stage of the flight, it is also easier to reach your goals. Additionally, the CODEX offers a lot of performance at high top speed. The combination of performance and safety is the proven recipe for success in achieving personal goals."

Performance meets confidence. The CODEX is an innovation in the EN C class that incorporates the valued features of our EN D two-liner XENON. In terms of glide performance and top speed, it sits right at the top of its class. At the same time, with a moderate aspect ratio of 6.1, the CODEX is an EN C cross-country glider with a feel-good factor. Along the entire speed range, it glides very efficiently and is resistant to collapses. This is why the full performance potential can be utilised even during epic days in active air. The idea is flying far in a relaxed way!
The uncomplicated companion. During the development of the CODEX, the requirement was not only high performance that could be used in reality but also practical handling from simple launch behaviour to easy packing. Nitinol rods at the leading edge are less susceptible to kinking so the wing can be packed smaller. The CODEX is supplied with the Concertina Bag Light as standard, but you can also use a normal packsack. Due to its semi-light construction, at 4.2 kg in size XS (70-95 kg take-off weight), the CODEX is both robust and suitable for hike & fly.

Intelligent Lightweight. Light, durable and suitable for everyday use. Developed in line with the motto "as light as possible, and as solid as necessary", we rely on a smart design and choice of materials. Where possible, we use lightweight fabric with sturdier cloth in the areas of heavier wear. This way we can guarantee long durability, high performance and easy handling with little weight. The paragliders are light, fully usable for everyday flying AND durable. The CODEX is made from Dominico 30D on the leading edge and Porcher Skytex 27C2 on the rest of the upper and lower surfaces. For the more stressed parts of the interior, we use Porcher Skytex 32 hard, and for the rest ultra-light Porcher Skytex 27 hard.
Target group. The CODEX (EN C/LTF D) is aimed at XC pilots who want to fly a two-liner within the C class and benefit from exceptional performance with high safety. Those who already have a lot of experience with high-end EN B wings and feel comfortable with a MENTOR 7, for example, will quickly learn to love the CODEX. It is an uncomplicated and user-friendly two-liner – the ideal first wing for this type of design.

If repair isn’t possible, we will deduct the current value when purchasing a new NOVA paraglider.
NOVA 3 Years No Full Service Required
If your wing receives NOVA Trim Tuning, the standard two-year service check extends to three years (from the date of purchase), as long as you stay within the flight hours specified in the manual. This lets you focus on what you love—flying!
NOVA Trim Tuning
Over time, glider lines stretch or shrink, affecting performance. Typically, A and B lines stretch while C lines shrink, making the wing slower and less agile. NOVA Trim Tuning (NTT), developed with instructor and mathematician Ralf Antz, restores optimal performance. After 15-20 flight hours, send your wing to us or an authorised partner for measurement and trimming. Wings with NTT qualify for the 3-Year No Check Required guarantee.
NOVA Full Service
Our NOVA Full Service is more than a routine check—it ensures your glider is in top condition. We assess porosity, line lengths, and trim using our advanced Quality Assurance Database (QAD). All measurements are recorded, allowing technicians to make precise adjustments. This system helps us refine our designs for better safety and performance.
NOVA Quality Assurance Database
Your glider’s history is digitally stored in our QAD. Registering at MyNOVA grants access to all service records, including Full Service logs and Trim Tuning data. This system also helps us monitor material durability and improve future designs. NOVA service centres use QAD to assess your wing before servicing, enhancing knowledge transfer for better safety.
