THE BEAT GOES ON!
Here is the light version of our bestseller:
- The BEAT light sold even more than the BEAT.
- Pilots like the low weight and the easier handling of the light version in every matter.
- The BEAT 2 lite strikes the perfect balance of outstanding safety and simplicity on the one hand and performance that will satisfy even an advanced pilot at any time on the other.
- The BEAT 2 light symbolizes the legendary “Golden Ratio” and represents the meaning of our brand PHI like no other of our wings.
FEEDBACK
I Flew the Phi Beat 2 Light for a 3rd time today, and OMG, what an absolutely beautiful wing it is! Top landed at a super technical site that requires confidence, and wow, this wing is difficult to stall (in a good way). I feel so much more in tune and a part of this wing that I swear my flying, launching, and landing have instantly improved! The speed bar is so magically light, and the wing felt surprisingly fast on full bar (I didn't expect much being a mid-B, so I was pleasantly surprised). I am completely in love with it. PHI BEAT 2 light Technical Features
There are a lot of differences between the BEAT light and the BEAT 2 light. Only the ground shape/outline is the same.
The “X-ray view” against the light shows the new internal construction:
- Line suspension points moved.
- Diagonal fingers are optimized.
- There are different straps with V-shaped anchor connections.
The intake, the sail cut, and the rods (now on the bottom sail) differ. The stabilo is entirely different. It is always challenging for a designer to make a new generation of a best seller. Too often, you want “too much” and destroy the key features that made the original so successful. We wanted to be sure that the BEAT 2 stays a BEAT, but we tried to carefully make it even better. Please give it a try! You will experience noticeably better, more forgiving take-off behaviour. You may immediately feel better handling, higher agility, and more “defined” feedback. The playful ease with which you dance to the top of the thermalling pulk is unique! At the request of many pilots, the BEAT 2 light has only robust, sheathed lines on the brakes and stabilo, which stand out clearly from the ground in their orange. With this decision, we believe that paragliding has to become easier again!
PHI BEAT 2 light Designer’s Note
I was flying the BEAT and BEAT light a lot and enjoyed its very high comfort level. Not without a reason, the BEAT light was our best seller. Finding some “weak points” to be improved was not easy. Finally, we improved take-off, reduced the weight, improved the reaction to extreme manoeuvres, and tuned the handling much better. Because of the cleaner surface and changed sail tension, the performance improves feelable. So we are sure the BEAT 2 light will be even more successful than its predecessor.

PHI BEAT 2 light Weight Ranges
The take-off weight on the scale includes pilot + equipment + wing. It is recommended that normal thermal flying stays in the normal range. The extended range offers more speed and energy and the possibility of high wind conditions and strong thermals flying XC.
PHI BEAT 2 light risers
The PHI BEAT 2 light is delivered with the semi-light riser R04 (290g per pair). You are free to customize and choose another riser free of charge. You may select the super light RZ1 with only 145g per pair when you want extra light.

PHI BEAT 2 Light Q&A
How should the PHI BEAT 2 Light be packed?
The rods of the BEAT 2 Light are short and are not sensitive to bending. You can pack the BEAT 2 light without considerable attention.
What is the service interval of the BEAT 2 Light? Is a trim tuning needed?
The service interval is, as usual, two years from the first flight. Please fill in the date of your first flight in the type table label inside your glider. Based on our experience with the line material mix, no trim tuning is necessary: the trim typically does not change significantly.
Can the BEAT 2 Light be equipped with C steering R07 risers?
You can order the BEAT 2 Light with the C handle R07 riser. As for all PHI wings, you can choose the riser when ordering. The R07 riser is raising the demand, as it is more challenging to be sorted than an ordinary riser (because of the free ball bearing roll as the B riser). We are recommending the R07 only for more experienced pilots.
