Porcher Skytex 27 Classic II versus Skytex 27 Classic?

Understanding the materials used in your paraglider can sometimes be ambiguous. There are often subtle discrepancies between generations, models, and treatments of each fabric. Currently, Skytex 27 is regarded as the light most porosity durable paragliding fabric available on the market.

The Skytex 27 CLASSIC has been initially developed for mountain lovers and ultralight paragliders, SKYTEX 27 CLASSIC has gradually found its place in the design of other paragliding. To follow its development Porcher Sport offers now a more comprehensive product line in order to meet the market demand for lighter weight paragliders.

The Skytex 27 CLASSIC II is a more durable version of the original Classic. Thanks to a double coating on the same side the Skytex 27 CLASSIC II  is now more durable than ever. The porosity of SKYTEX 27 CLASSIC II is three times better after washing than SKYTEX 27 CLASSIC. Skytex 27 CLASSIC II  is also firmer than Skytex 27 CLASSIC.

The durability of the Skytex 27 Classic II is similar to Skytex 40 classic the heavier version of the same fabric used on the standard version of paragliding wings.

SKYTEX 27 CLASSIC II: A MORE DURABLE VERSION. Thanks to a double coating on the same side, this fabric is now more durable than ever. The porosity of SKYTEX 27 CLASSIC II is three times better after washing than SKYTEX 27 CLASSIC. The fabric is also firmer.

Another variant of the Skytex 27 family is the Skytex 27 HARD finish version that has been specially designed for profiles of paragliding wings.

Delving further into the technical specifications of the Skytex 27 CLASSIC II, you'll discover that the double coating adds an additional 2g/m2, technically making this material also referred to as Skytex 29.
